We spent an incredible 3-day weekend at the Retreat in Painswick.

Sue and Tim are extremely accommodating and will make the trip perfect, from having thought through all the details of the house, to having everything like at home, to sharing recommendations and being extremely responsive before and during your time there. This definitely was a highlight

The photographs and videos on the website are beautiful, but they still don’t quite prepare you for how peaceful and serene the Retreat feels in person. There is a real sense of calm about the building and their surroundings that is difficult to capture on camera, and despite being a large group we found there was plenty of space to spend time together as well as quieter areas to retreat to.

The owners do operate a very clear and quite strict noise policy, particularly later in the evening and around the outside areas. Having spent time in Painswick, though, it is completely understandable – it is a small, peaceful and intimate Cotswold village, and the Retreat is clearly intended to fit respectfully into that setting. It certainly didn’t stop us enjoying ourselves; it simply means guests need to be considerate of the surroundings, particularly at night.

We held a business planning retreat at Painswick Retreat and thoroughly enjoyed both the facilities and the overall experience. As a small company, it is important for us to spend time together as a team—not only to relax and enjoy each other’s company, but also to develop our business strategy and plans for the future.

The excellent facilities, including the hot tub, barbecue, massage chairs, table football, pool table and other amenities, created the perfect environment for both team building and productive discussions. The spacious meeting room was also ideal for our business sessions, providing a comfortable and professional setting in which to work.

Our company did a company offsite at the painswick retreat, it was so much fun and everybody had their own bedroom. The amenities were really good and we had the chance to have so many acitivities and the projector room was top quality. You can go on nearby hikes, the local pubs in town and cook in not one but two kitchens with a bbq! The Hot tub was really nice to relax in the evening and the sauna was a great touch. Honestly this is such a great place for a group of 10+ people, would highly recommend.
